The Sims : Questions : Answer
Answer

My Sim used to have their own clothes, Swimsuit, PJs, and Formalwear, now they are only using the default skins...what happend?

Earlier versions of The Sims allowed every skin to have its own set of Swimwear, PJ's, and Formalwear. This was not used by Maxis and only a very few of the fan sites supported it. This feature has been removed from the game in The Sims Hot Date. It is replaced by the new buyable clothing system. This system is end-user expandable. The fan sites simply need to rename their skins to work in it. The naming convention is identical to Create-A-Sim skins except the 'B" at the front of the name is replaced with an 'S' for swimwear, "F" for formalwear, and an "L" for PJ's. This way any Sim can have their own instead of only the skins that came with them. Place the new skins in GameData\Skins with the other skins and they will appear Downtown for sale.
