It's an add-on pack. You will still need The Sims, The Sims Deluxe or The Sims Double Deluxe to play.

No...you just need The Sims, The Sims Deluxe or The Sims Double Deluxe, however if you have other expansion packs you may find some additional interactions.

Some files will be put on your hard drive, but you will need the CD to play.
